The Paul Merage School of Business is pleased to be graduating a record-breaking 580 new business leaders at all levels -- including our Undergraduate business majors, our Full-Time, Fully Employed, Executive and Health Care Executive MBAs, and our Doctorate candidates.

ALL MERAGE SCHOOL GRADUATES


PLEASE NOTE: Please follow all instructions emailed to you by your Merage School program office (NOT those instructions from UCIAA). Our Commencement Ceremony is conducted differently than other school ceremonies and many of the procedures are different. Contact us if you have any questions.
 
NATIONAL ANTHEM SINGER:  Please see the directions on the UC Irvine Commencement website to sign up before April 16 to audition to sing the National Anthem at our ceremony.
  
STUDENT SPEAKER: 2013 marks the first year that a student speaker will be selected to address the audience. Please download the attached instructions for application early to meet the April 8 deadline.


UNDERGRADUATE INSTRUCTIONS

 
CAP & GOWN PURCHASING:  Undergraduates participating in Commencement are required to purchase their Cap and Gown before April 12.  See the UCI Alumni Association website for more information and pricing.

CAP & GOWN DISTRIBUTION:
T
he Undergraduate Program Office will contact you with instructions when regalia is ready to be picked up at the Program Office (approximately June 1). 
 
CAP & GOWN AFTER GRADUATION:
Undergrad regalia is non-returnable; your cap, tassel and gown are yours to keep!
 
CEREMONY CHECK IN TIME
: Please plan to arrive no later than 7:30 am and signs at the Bren Center will direct you where to meet for class photos and procession lineup. Please wear your cap and gown. Your class will be asked to split up into two lines that will each walk down the center aisle to your seats. Grads are in no particular order so you can sit with your friends to celebrate the day. See the FAQ page to help your guests know where to look for you.

PHOTOS:  GradImages is the official event photographer that will be taking several different shots of each graduate. Starting in May 2013, you can pre-register to receive more information at www.GradImages.com; search on "Irvine" and select the Merage School.
 

MBA INSTRUCTIONS

  
CAP & GOWN RENTAL ORDERING:  All graduates must have proper regalia to participate in the ceremony. MBA regalia orders should be placed online no later than March 31, 2013. Please order at the site for your program:    
CAP & GOWN DISTRIBUTION: The MBA Programs Offices will contact you with instructions when regalia is ready to be picked up at your Program Office (approximately June 1). All graduates must have proper regalia to participate in the ceremony. Please click here for instructions and how to wear the Masters hood. 
 
GOWN & HOOD RENTAL RETURNS: Your cap and tassel are yours to keep; gowns and hoods must be returned immediately after the ceremony in one of the drop boxes outside the Bren Center. Any rentals not returned directly after the ceremony will be assessed a $400 fee.

HOODING CEREMONY: Although the University holds a graduate hooding ceremony, the traditional Hooding Ceremony for Merage School PhD candidates takes place on stage at our Commencement Ceremony.
 
CEREMONY CHECK IN TIME
: Please plan to meet in the Koll Room (lower level of the Bren Center) no later than 8:00 am for hooding and pictures.  PhD graduates march in the procession with the faculty and sit in the front row facing the stage.
