Professor Charles Shi’s research is in the areas of valuation of intangible investments, role of accounting information in credit risk analysis and debt pricing, as well as the economic consequences of disclosure and securities regulations in stock and bond markets. His work has been published in premier accounting, finance, and management journals such as Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Financial Economics, and Management Science. Dr. Shi has been invited to speak at research colloquia by over 30 top business schools in the U.S. and from around the world. He also serves regularly as a reviewer for numerous top accounting and finance journals such as Contemporary Accounting Research, the Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Review of Financial Studies. Dr. Shi’s research was awarded a multi-year National Science Foundation grant.
