The Merage School offers two special programs combined with your Full-time MBA program in which you can obtain a dual-degree. If you are seeking a career as a physician with a key management role in a health care organization, the
MD/MBA program fulfills these requirements. We also offer undergraduates the accelerated
3/2 program in which you can acquire a bachelor’s degree and an MBA in five years.
Designed for professionals seeking careers as physicians with key management roles in health care organizations, the MD/MBA program is an ideal choice. You must be enrolled in the UC Irvine School of Medicine and may apply to the MBA program during your second or third year.
If you are an exceptionally qualified UC Irvine undergraduate, you might be among the limited number of students accepted into the accelerated 3/2 program.
This 5-year program culminates in a bachelor’s degree and the MBA degree. If you are accepted in the 3/2 program, you will begin the MBA at the beginning of your fourth year.
In order to meet the five-year timeline, you will have completed your undergraduate major requirements by the end of your junior year. During your senior year, you will take graduate courses in the Full-time MBA program.
Successful completion of the 3/2 program typically results in the awarding of the undergraduate degree after the fourth year and an MBA after the fifth year.
