The most important thing you can do before you begin any MBA program is to get focused. You will have many opportunities and choices as you enter the program and even more so when you leave. However, early on, you should have the essential skills to help you make the right career choices – ones which will satisfy not only your goals, but your dreams as well.
At the Merage School, we offer a specialized, multi-step program called Career Visioning. This dynamic process begins prior to the start of your academic program. The first part of Career Visioning deals with exploration, where you will complete a series of exercises and tools including MBTI and CareerLeader. Developed by two psychologists from Harvard Business School and used by business schools worldwide, CareerLeader profiles your career interests, work values, strengths, weaknesses, organizational fit and entrepreneurial attributes.
In the second part of Career Visioning, you will work with the professionals in the Merage School’s MBA Career Center, pulling together all the information you gathered in the Exploration session. The result will be the creation of your career development plan. Your plan will provide you with a strong foundation for writing targeted resumes and cover letters, networking, preparing for and responding to interview questions and evaluating job offers.
