Since the premiere of the popular television series The OC, Orange County is often referred to as “The OC” by residents and non-residents alike. But just what and where is The OC? Well for starters, it is the second largest county in the state of California. It is also at the center of Southern California’s Tech Coast, with Irvine being the primary location for up and coming businesses and industries – especially biotech, medical, fashion, real estate, finance and auto design. Innovative companies such as Allergan, Broadcom, Disney, Google, Mercedes Benz Advanced Design, Oakley, Pimco and Taco Bell can all be found in Orange County, just minutes away from the Merage School.
Orange County is located in Southern California and is bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the north by Los Angeles County and on the south by San Diego County. Its warm Mediterranean climate and 42 miles of year-round beaches make it an ideal place to live and work. Of course, The OC is also home to such popular tourist attractions as Disneyland and “Surf City, U.S.A.”, also known as Huntington Beach.
The OC is also known for its major sports teams such as the Stanley Cup winning Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim national baseball team. It has also been the home and inspiration for music artists such as Gwen Stefani and No Doubt, The Offspring, Sublime and Berlin. And novelists such as Dean Koontz and T. Jefferson Parker set many of their novels in Orange County.
There is no doubt that Orange County is a vibrant and exciting location.
