An MBA Call to Action

The Paul Merage School of Business values the service of our men and women in uniform and the experiences they bring to our program. The Full-Time MBA Program warmly welcomes military applicants. Our personalized, experientially-based learning offers broad exposure to all key areas of business to build your strategic business acumen and prepare you for leadership roles in the public and private sectors.

Exploring Career Paths

One of the unique advantages of Merage is the personalized attention you will receive from our career center while in the program.  This is especially critical for our military veterans that are coming straight out of service into the Merage School MBA.  Our Career Center begins working with you prior to ever stepping foot on campus through webinars and online modules that lay the foundation for Orientation.  Once you arrive on campus for orientation, you will go through Career Visioning, an interactive workshop series that helps you evaluate your career interests, values, strengths, organizational fit and skills/attributes, and how those important elements align with various MBA career paths. You will then work one-on-one with your personal career coach to develop a plan to reach your goals.  Merage veterans have gone on to have successful careers in a wide variety of functions, including, Leadership Development Programs (LDPs), Consulting, Finance, Operations/Supply Chain, and Project Management, among others.

Application Fee

As a military-friendly MBA Program, the Merage School will waive the $150 application fee for all active Military and U.S. veterans.  To receive a fee waiver, start your Full-Time MBA Application, but do not submit.  Then please contact the Full-Time MBA office via email at mba@merage.uci.edu, listing ‘Military Application Fee Waiver’ in the subject line and your full name in the body of the message. We will then waive the fee in our online application system.  (Submission of the application should be done after the program office waives the application fee.)

Financing

The Paul Merage School of Business is honored to be participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program. Under the Yellow Ribbon Program, institutions of higher learning (degree-granting institutions) in the United States volunteer tuition funds not covered by the recent Post-9/11 GI Bill. Participating schools pledge to cover up to 50 percent of the remaining expenses not met by the Bill, and the VA will match that percentage dollar for dollar.
