Darrell Le MBA Class of 2010 Darrell.Le@uci.edu
Darrell Le is a second year student in the Full-Time MBA program. He is focusing on Marketing and Strategy and is President of the Merage Food and Wine Club (Grapevine). Darrell holds a BS in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business as well as a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. During his undergraduate program, Darrell worked on a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) project in Vietnam.
Prior to attending the Merage School, Darrell spent five years in the finance industry. He was employed with the investment management division of State Street Corporation, which serviced PIMCO (a leading global investment management firm with over $829.5 billion AUM headquartered here in Newport Beach, CA). As the team lead in his department, Darrell developed and implemented new trading processes and created software that is now included in the default set of PIMCO applications for employees. His work included weekly interaction with global PIMCO offices including Singapore, Tokyo, and Munich. Darrell also specialized in process analysis and strategy and is currently certified as a LEAN/Six Sigma Green Belt.
Darrell is a Faculty and Charles Schwab Fellowship recipient. He chose Merage for its strong focus on technology and innovation and supportive network of faculty, staff, students, and alumni. He believes that the collaborative culture of a smaller class size helps in creating an engaging environment where students get the highest level of personalized attention in order to not only grow intellectually, but also personally.
Currently, Darrell continues his summer internship part time at Edwards Lifesciences Corporation (NYSE: EW). Edwards is a global player in products and technologies designed to treat cardiovascular disease. Specifically, Darrell supports the marketing team in new global product launches in Transcatheter Heart Valve Therapy.
