Amanda Gast MBA Class of 2009 agast@uci.edu
Amanda Gast is a second year MBA student focusing on Marketing and Strategy. On campus, she is President of Women in Business and VP of Corporate Relations for Challenge for Charity. Amanda is continuing her internship with Johnson & Johnson during her second year. Amanda is responsible for the on-going marketing of existing products around the world as well as developing and launching new products into the market.
Prior to attending the Merage School, Amanda was employed with a division of Honeywell where she served as a Project Manager for the development and launch of new product lines. Prior to entering the workforce, Amanda earned her BS in International Business and Marketing from Pepperdine University in 2004. During her time at Pepperdine, Amanda was extremely involved in campus life and studied abroad in Heidelberg, Germany.
Amanda is a Merage Fellow and chose to return to school as a Full-Time MBA in order to enhance her strategic and management skills and to leverage recruiting opportunities. While many factors influenced her decision, Amanda attributes her decision to attend the Merage School of Business to the school size and culture. She believes that the personalized attention from administrators and faculty create an engaging environment that facilitates students academic learning and personal growth. Each student has the opportunity to take a leadership role in the many on-campus organizations and can impact the direction of the school.
Outside of school, Amanda is involved in the Tournament of Roses Parade. She has been a crew chief on a Rose Parade float since the age of 16 and navigated floats in 4 recent parades. Additionally, Amanda loves to travel, is an avid Green Bay Packer fan, and enjoys water sports.
