  Faculty Leaves an Impression

The professor that made the biggest impression on me was Zheng Sun, Professor for Derivatives. I was already fascinated with derivative financial instruments before taking the class, but Professor Sun unlocked the hidden elegance of these vehicles. She taught us not only the concepts and theories but also real-world strategies of how to implement derivatives for our organizations.

Learning in an International Arena

By living in a completely different environment, I gained a greater sense of perspective, I discovered that different cultures approach problems in very different ways, and I learned a lot about my values and goals in life. After meeting MBA students from all over the U.S. and the world, I realized that my education and experiences at the Merage School have been second to none.

A Seamless Transition to a New Career

The decision to make a career switch, especially when I was already established in a profession, was a personal one that required a lot of thought. I came into the Merage School largely knowing where I wanted to be, but I needed guidance to arrive there. Because I was changing careers from law to finance, I knew I’d have to leverage every advantage, opportunity and resource the Merage School had to offer.

The Merage School coursework and faculty fully prepared me for the transition, while the MBA Career Center helped me focus my job search and emphasize my transferable skills. Through it all, the Merage School alumni and my fellow classmates have been my unfailing network.
