After you finish MBA Boot Camp, an intensive two-week orientation designed to prepare you for the rest of your MBA career, you will begin your Merage MBA program with the core courses that build the foundation of your degree, such as Financial Accounting, Principals of Marketing and Corporate Finance. You will also partner with the experienced professionals at the Merage MBA Career Center who will help you determine your “best fit” career. With dynamic programs such as Career Visioning, a multi-step process to help you explore career interests, strengths, weaknesses and much more, you will be well on your way to achieving your professional and personal goals. And as you focus your career interests, you can begin to take elective courses to build your knowledge and prepare you for your summer internship.

Between your first and second year, you will have a chance to apply your knowledge and gain real-world experience during a summer internship. The MBA Career Center has the experienced staff and resources to help you find the internship of your dreams. Craig Young, 2008 Merage School Graduate, says, “The program definitely helped me get the internship at IBM. In fact, another student who had interned there helped me prepare for the interview.”

Your second year includes a variety of innovative electives to prepare you for your future. Whether you plan to join a large corporation or start your own business, you will discover that these electives expand on the key components of the Merage MBA program: strategic innovation, information technology and analytic decision making. During the winter quarter, you can enroll in our newly launched
“EDGE” course that explores how technology and globalization are transforming the business landscape.
As a second year student, you can experience a week-long international study trip. Through this experience, you will gain a richer grasp of global business by attending informative seminars and seeing international business and culture from a completely different perspective. Most recently, our students have visited Prague in the Czech Republic.
You can also participate in our quarter-long International Exchange Program at partnering schools in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Gain global business acumen from our university partners:
