MBA Class of 2011

Jason Zaler is a second year Full-Time MBA candidate at the Paul Merage School of Business focusing on Real Estate, and is involved on campus with the Merage Real Estate Association, Net Impact and Challenge for Charity. Jason graduated from Northeastern University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Affairs, Magna Cum Laude. Jason is fascinated by the intersection of business and government and took a semester of his undergraduate career to live and work at the European Union in Brussels.

After college, Jason worked in Washington, D.C. as a political strategy consultant for clients ranging from Fortune 50 corporations to trade associations and nonprofit groups. Jason now seeks to earn his MBA to help companies navigate the complex implications of policy and regulation on global corporate strategy.

Jason chose the Paul Merage School of Business because it is large enough to provide students with the tools and opportunities needed for career success, but small enough to foster an accessible and inviting MBA community.

Jason's summer internship was spent as a Finance Associate at Vintage Senior Living, where he built real estate financial models and monitored strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting performance indicators.

Outside the classroom, Jason enjoys Orange County’s fantastic climate, and is particularly fond of sailing in Newport Harbor and swimming outdoors year-round. One of Jason’s favorite things to do is try the diverse ethnic food at restaurants across Orange County, and then try to recreate it at home.  Jason loves to travel and is known to hop on a plane to far-flung destinations at a moment’s notice. Recent trips include Southeast Asia and Latin America. A native Arizonan, Jason is a lifelong fan of the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Cardinals, and roots for any baseball team playing the Yankees.
