  Achieving the Right Balance

At the Merage School, you benefit from the smaller program through a lot of leadership development opportunities and by making an impact on the future of the program.  There are countless ways for students to get involved in extracurricular activities, socialize through student clubs and associations, take on leadership roles, and connect with innovators in the local business community.

Breaking into my Desired Industry

I don't come from a finance background; so breaking into the industry was priority number one. I knew I wanted to work for PIMCO, and I took every step possible to reach my goal. I landed an internship with PIMCO, and now I work in a group called Business Development Support. It's the information hub for all things PIMCO, from delivering the language that embodies PIMCO's investment strategies to examining many different facets of the company. The experience has allowed me to learn the ins and outs of the company, the industry and the overall trends of asset management. PIMCO is the perfect springboard for my future in asset management. The experience has been invaluable.

  Opening Doors through Student Clubs

As president of the Financial Management Association I have had the opportunity to work closely with an impressive group of financial firms, as well as an energetic group of alumni, for campus events. There are many career-oriented clubs at the Merage School, and they all share the goal of advancing students' careers by increasing their knowledge, improving leadership skills, managing groups and teams, and introducing students to top industry professionals.

The Merage School environment puts you in the epicenter of Orange County's networking channels. Through these clubs and organizations, students have access to well-connected alumni, industry leaders and organizations on a local, national and international level.
