Mary Clark


Title: Assistant Dean, Fully Employed MBA Program

Academic Background: 
MBA, Executive MBA Program, Washington University in St. Louis - Olin Business School; Management Development Program, IESE Business School; BA in Spanish, minor in Business Administration, CSU Fullerton

Professional Background:
With over 15 years of experience in management education, Mary joined The Merage School of Business in 2006 as the Director of Recruitment and Admissions for the Full-Time MBA Program.  Previously, she worked at the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis where she was the Director of Corporate Outreach.  Prior to Mary’s work at Olin, she served in two positions at IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain. From 1994 until 2000, Mary was responsible for the internationalization of the Full-Time MBA student body, and later she was part of the launch team for the Global Executive MBA Program and was the Director of Marketing and Admissions for that program.

 

 
 
Mae Jennifer "MJ" Shores


Title: Director, Admissions, Fully Employed MBA Program

Academic Background:
MPA, School of International and Public Affairs (1991); BA, Economics, Arizona State University, Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude; BA, Economics, Guilford College

Professional Background:
MJ brings over 15 years of business school experience to the program.  Her experience ranges from teaching management courses at the International University of Moscow to working in academic services and admissions at the Wharton School of Business to serving as the Assistant Dean of MBA Admissions & Financial Aid at UCLA.  MJ has also worked as a policy and economic analyst for the Morrison Institute of Public Policy and the Port Authority of NY & NJ.  MJ has served on several industry advisory boards and possesses deep expertise in social media, print, and web marketing.

 

 
 
Rocke DeMark


Title: Associate Director, Student Affairs, Fully Employed MBA Program
 

Academic Background: Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, University of Southern California; M.Ed. in Postsecondary Administration & Student Affairs, University of Southern California; B.S.B.A. in Marketing & International Business, Washington University

 

Previous Professional Background: Rocke started his professional career in the financial world, where he worked as an analyst for Stifel, Nicolaus & Company and Market Studies.  After five years in the business sector, he decided to follow his passion for higher education and student affairs.  While completing his Masters and Doctor degrees in Education, Rocke served as Student Services Advisor for the Doctor of Education Program at the University of Southern California.

 

 
Melanie Coburn


Title: Associate Director, Admissions, Fully Employed MBA Program

Academic Background: 
B.A. in Literature and Rhetoric, Binghamton University; M.A. in English, Binghamton University; MBA, Merrick School of Business - University of Baltimore

Previous Professional Background:
Melanie began her career as an  Admissions Counselor at Long Island University - C.W. Post Campus in  2003.  She was responsible for guiding freshmen through the application process.  She was promoted to Senior Admissions Counselor in 2004.  After 2 years at LIU, Melanie accepted a position at the University of Baltimore.  She was responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of freshman and transfer students.  She worked at UB for 3 years as an Admissions Counselor, then Assistant Director, and then Acting Associate Director of Admissions.

Why Did You Choose to Work at Merage: I just recently moved to California and wanted to live and work in a thriving community.  I also wanted to broaden my career by working with graduate students as well share my experience as an MBA student who was fully employed.

 

 
 
Vanessa Chen

Title: Assistant Director, Admissions, Fully Employed MBA Program

Academic Background: 
Ed.M. in Higher Education, Harvard Graduate School of Education; B.A. in Spanish, University of California, Los Angeles

Professional Background:
During her undergraduate career at UCLA, Vanessa gained exposure to working in higher education as a discussion leader.  Teaching and advising students inspired her to pursue her passion for higher education.  While completing her Master's degree, she served as an intern in the Admissions Office at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.  Vanessa is excited to be a part of the FEMBA Admissions team and hopes to continue broadening her professional experiences by working with graduate students.

 

 
 
Anam Javed

Title: Coordinator, Admissions, Fully Employed MBA Program

Academic Background:
B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior, B.A. in Sociology, University of California, Irvine

Professional Highlights: While an undergraduate at UC Irvine, Anam worked as a Student Assistant in the History Department and finance assistant in the Finance Department - UCI Extension.  She is a recent grad from UC Irvine and has joined the FEMBA staff to pursue her interest in working with students and being a part of the Admissions team.
 
 
 
Jennie Craig

Title: Program Manager, Student Affairs, Fully Employed MBA Program

Academic Background:
M.Ed. in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs, University of Southern California; B.A. in Studio Art, University of California, Irvine

Professional Highlights: Shortly after graduating from UC Irvine, Jennie started her professional career working at a framing company in Laguna Niguel.  Once realizing that her true career aspiration was working with students, she returned to UC Irvine, where she spent three years working within the Associated Students department.  Taking the next step, Jennie decided to pursue her Master's degree in Education at the University of Southern California, where she worked for two years as the Manager of the Office of Recruiting and Admissions.

 
 
Andy Chen

Title: Program Manager, Student Affairs, Fully Employed MBA Program

Academic Background:
M.A. in Politics and Education, Teachers College, Columbia University; B.A. in Political Science, University of California, Irvine

Professional Background:
During his undergraduate career, Andy first began his work in student affairs as a residential advisor at UC Irvine.  Since then, he has followed his passion for working with learners of all ages and backgrounds, and has worked in the field of education in some capacity.  From working at the Santa Ana Unified School District to working at the Sesame Street Workshop in New York City, Andy joins the FEMBA Student Affairs team with his diverse background in education systems and education research.
