The biggest change I’ve undergone since being in the program is my confidence level. I’m a much more confident presenter – a skill I know will help me attain my career goals. Also, my experiences at the Merage School have sparked my curiosity about other functions within my company that I am now currently pursuing.
Most important, the program helps you to elevate your communication skills level to the level of senior/executive management. You learn how to articulate points clearly and concisely. On a personal level, I have an amazing network of friends and professional colleagues that I respect and admire. This program has turned students who were in my cohort into life-long friends – with deep and lasting relationships.
One of the best aspects about attending the Merage School is the faculty. Through the constant interaction they have with the students, we are encouraged and challenged to bring our real world scenarios into the classroom so that we can all learn from each other’s professional experience.
The faculty here is outstanding and you know that they feel a personal stake in helping you achieve success, both personally and professionally. They continue to keep in contact with you, even after the class is over. It is encouraging to know that you have many supporters who are curious about your growth both academically and professionally. You’re not just passing through.
While working full-time, I am involved in as many activities as possible. I am currently the Section Representative for the FEMBA 08 B class which allows me a seat on the Merage Student Association. Having this role provides me the visibility of what is going on all over the school. This is extremely rewarding to me, personally, because I have the ability to be involved and make decisions that will positively impact the student body.
I have also spoken at many of the information sessions and new FEMBA orientations to welcome prospective and incoming students to our program. This allows me the opportunity to meet many more students outside of the classroom. This year, being my graduating year, I plan to participate in the Distinguished Speaker Series and become a member of the Dean’s Leadership Circle – both of which are great networking opportunities and will help me stay intimately involved with the Merage School when I graduate in June, 2008.
