The checklist below will help ensure that you have everything you need before you begin our convenient online applications process.
This short interview, held over the phone, will help determine the appropriate MBA program for you and introduce you to the process.
An admissions interview is a required part of the admissions process, either conducted on campus, at a mutually convenient location or via telephone. The admissions interview will not only give you the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the school and specifically the Health Care Executive MBA program, but it will also allow us to learn more about you.
Two copies of your official transcript from all previous universities or colleges attended. All transcripts must be sealed and either hand-delivered or mailed to the HCEMBA Program Office.
International students: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized academic institution of acceptable standing is required. Please refer to the
International Page for specific requirements or contact our office (949.824.0561).

There are three required essays.
Essay 1 (2 page maximum, double spaced)
Please discuss your professional and personal commitment to the health care sector. What do you hope to gain from the HCEMBA program and how will you contribute to the overall experience of your peers?
Essay 2 (2 page maximum, double spaced)Write a memo to your boss / investors on why you should return to school for an MBA at this time. Include why you want to earn the MBA, how it fits into your career plan, and how you will contribute to the overall experience of your MBA classmates?
Essay 3 (2 page maximum, double spaced)Tell us about your most challenging team experience. What role did you play? How did your group address these issues? What did you learn?
Essay 4 (Optional Essay, 2 page maximum, double spaced)
Please provide additional information regarding your background, experience or accomplishments that are relevant in terms of evaluating you for admission to the EMBA or HCEMBA program.
At least one letter should come from your current employer or supervisor, or from recent employers or supervisors. It should contain specific and relevant details about your performance. We recommend that you submit these recommendations online. If you have been referred by an alum of the Merage School of Business, you should include a letter of recommendation from the alum in addition to the two required letters of recommendation.
The minimum score required for admission for the Paul Merage School of Business is 600 for the paper-based test, 250 for the computer-based test, or 100 for the Internet-based test. TOEFL scores are valid for up to two years from your test date. Applicants may receive a waiver of the TOEFL if all of the requirements for the high school diploma, bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree in a country where the
primary and dominant language is English and English was the language of instruction of the school where the requirements were completed.
