I have always been interested in brewing / viticulture/ enology. My parents currently grow 4 acres of Pinot Noir grapes on the central coast of California and are thinking about starting their own winery in the future as a retirement project. I also enjoy hanging out with other people that know their beer or wine, or are interesting in beer and wine.
Vice-President: Garret Johnson
I want to join the Vine and Hop Leadership team because I believe that I would make a positive contribution to the club. I have many event ideas that I would like to implement and I would help take the club to the next level. I have also been a leader throughout my undergraduate and professional career and want to bring the skills that I have learned to the Vine and Hop leadership team. In the future I would like to start a brewery of my own, therefore I really enjoy talking to other people who have a passion for beer and wine and sharing my home-brewed craft beer with others.
Vice-President: Jaime Silva
I’ve always loved to taste different beer and wine. A friend of mine started brewing a year ago,and my interest in new brews has peaked ever since. I would love to spread the love I have for beer andwine to others students at Merage because, not only is it delicious, but it will help people come closertogether in our community.
Vice-President: Brandon Gifford
I have always had a strong passion for both wine and beer. I feel I am somewhat knowledgeable in both but have a lot to learn from others in the club and through the experiences I want to help create. I have some ideas worth sharing with the other members of the club’s leadership. Having gone wine tasting several times and in different locations in California, there are some places and vineyards I’d like to share. Hopefully we will be able to organize trips to some of the more distant locations.
Vice-President: Dhaval Shah
I want to join the Wine and Beer Club because I am extremely passionate about my beer. Going out meeting with friends, grabbing myself a few beers is something that truly makes me feel good. Though I love my beer and have tasted various types of beer, I lack the expertise and that’s something I wish to gain out of this club. Besides, I love planning events where many people with similar interests (drinking beer/wine) could come together, and there can be no better platform other than the Wine and Hop club events.
