Share Your Time
There are a number of opportunities for successful entrepreneurs and business executives to share your hard-won business knowledge with the next generation of Southern California entrepreneurs which include the following:
Business Plan Competition at The Paul Merage School of Business Coaches
Coaching a team during the annual Business Plan Competition is a great opportunity to help maintain the rich tradition of Orange County entrepreneurship that has helped us become one of the premier economic engines of the world. As a business plan competition Team Coach, your role is similar to an athletic coach in that your job is not to take the mound or quarterback the team, your contribution will be to set expectations and provide structure. The Team Coach is principally responsible for pointing the way and creating an environment for success. Coaches are not expected to write any part of the business plan or to provide access to capital during the competition.
UC Irvine Mentoring Program
The Mentoring Program pairs current MBA students with senior executives in our business community. These one-on-one partnerships enable students to develop an understanding of career progression, organizational cultures and the skills and abilities required for successful leadership. Students also gain valuable individualized feedback about professional skills, networking opportunities, as well as guidance on how to enhance their professional effectiveness.
