Center Staff

Melissa Beck, Director

Melissa currently serves as the Director of the Center for Investment and Wealth Management (CIWM) at the UC Irvine, Paul Merage School of Business. As the most senior staff with the Center, she works to create and disseminate vital, applicable research and knowledge concerning the creation, management and inter-generational transfer of wealth to investment and wealth management professionals as well as the business community. During her three years with the CIWM, the Center has grown the advisory board to include over 50 of the most prominent wealth management firms in Southern California and has established the Center as a thought leaderand source of innovative analysis for the new methodlogies and strategies within the wealth management industries.

Previously, Melissa served as the Controller and Director of Operations for Orion Financial Group, a private real estate based investment company in Orange County. During her 4 years with Orion she was instrumental in growing their sales volume by almost 400% annually, as well as establishing a board of directors and serving as their corporate liaison. She began her career in the public accounting arena with the renowned Bay Area entertainment CPA firm Zeisler, Zeisler & Rawson LLP, where she handled the tax planning and preparation of over 100 professional athletes.

Melissa received her Bachelors of Science in Accounting with a minor in Economics and is currently in the Executive MBA Program at The UC Irvine, Paul Merage School of Business. Melissa lives in Laguna Niguel with her husband and three sons.

Liz received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Redlands. She is as an integral part of the development staff at The Paul Merage School of Business, and has worked in the Alumni Relations Office and the Dean’s Leadership Circle.

Along with her work in the Center for Investment and Wealth Management, Liz focuses on Major Gift Fundraising and has responsibility for the Annual Fund Campaigns at the Merage School of Business.

Prior to joining UC Irvine, she worked at Morgan Stanley in the Private Wealth Management department. Liz enjoys spending time with her two children Hazel and Emmett.
