The Center for Real Estate

Center for Real Estate - Advisory BoardLinking Orange County’s academic and professional communities is a critical component of the Center for Real Estate’s outreach mission.  The Center’s Advisory Board is a centerpiece of its outreach efforts, providing an important link to the professional community.  Advisory Board members frequently volunteer to serve as guest lecturers, act as mentors and internship advisors, assist in Academic Fellow research working groups, and participate in a variety of other outreach events.  We invite you to join the Advisory Board with a financial pledge signaling your interest in contributing to the Center’s continued operation in fulfillment of its educational, research and outreach missions.

“I believe that one important legacy that we can leave is a strong Center for Real Estate at Orange County’s premier university.  We have unique opportunity to support the growth and vision of the Center by becoming members and getting involved.”

- Bob Campbell, President, CT Realty / Vice Chairman, Center for Real Estate Advisory Board

Benefits to Membership

Center for Real Estate - Board MembersWhile real estate professionals are encouraged to contribute to the Center’s missions, Advisory Board members receive a number of benefits when donating their time and resources to the center.  For example, members are invited to participate in the Center’s annual Board Retreat held at a resort venue.  Members also have numerous opportunities to learn from panels of experts, often composed of Advisory Board members, providing the latest professional insights into leading topics of interest in the real estate community.  Moreover, the Center hosts a variety of events attracting well-known, industry-leading keynote speakers.  Center members are also invited to our unique and productive “thinking outside the box” sessions in which participants are challenged to develop, contemplate and embrace innovative ideas and concepts in the real estate industry.  All members are invited to our popular Breakfast Series events at discounted rates as well.

Additional advantages to Advisory Board membership include exclusive invitations to occasional private “briefings” from regional and national real estate experts.  Center members frequently gain access to notable guests such as recent guest speaker Frank Nothaft, Chief Economist at Freddie Mac in Washington D.C.

Executive level board members also receive complimentary seats to the annual Real Estate Gala Awards Banquet, discounted rates to the Center’s executive education programs, and first access to the Center’s outstanding real estate graduates.

The Center’s regular newsletter keeps members apprised of upcoming events, lists directories of fellow members, current students and real estate alumni from the Merage School of Business.

Finally, the Center is active in fostering the development of the UC Irvine Real Estate Alumni Network bringing together students, professionals and members of the academic community engaged in real estate industry projects.

“One of the most gratifying aspects of involvement with the Center for Real Estate is working with bright, young students that are looking to us to guide them toward success in the real estate profession.”

- Bill Halford, President and CEO, Bixby Land Co. / Chairman, Center for Real Estate Advisory Board
