Mr. Edwards is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Rancho Mission Viejo.  In this capacity he is responsible for the financing, accounting and reporting, asset management, information systems, and property and income tax of various real estate development and operating entities.  Mr. Edwards joined Rancho Mission Viejo in January 2003.  For the prior 18 years, he served in various senior management capacities in Finance for The Irvine Company in Newport Beach, including leading the Strategic Planning and Tax Departments and also as Corporate Controller.  

Both Rancho Mission Viejo and The Irvine Company are major privately-held real estate companies located in Orange County, California.  Each has been a leader in master planning and developing major residential communities and commercial centers including creating the cities of Newport Beach, Irvine, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Ladera Ranch.  Moreover, both companies have developed and retained large portfolios of apartment, retail, and office properties.  

Mr. Edwards graduated with honors from the University of Houston and received an MBA from Southern Methodist University with emphasis on real estate and finance. Mr. Edwards is a CPA and volunteers as a mentor to business students.  He is also past President of the Orange County Chapter of Financial Executives International, a founding Board member of Partners Bank of California, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Chapman University Economic Forecast.
