Paul Hastings
John Simonis represents owners, investors, developers, contractors and users in connection with real estate and development matters, and has substantial experience in connection with real estate joint ventures, purchases and sales, leasing, master planned communities, mixed-use projects, property management, asset management and facility management agreements, construction and grading, infrastructure, development agreements, financings, and entity formation.
Mr. Simonis has particular experience in connection with commercial, industrial, retail and mixed-use developments, including acquisition/disposition, leasing, entitlement, construction, infrastructure development and land use controls.
Mr. Simonis also frequently represents major corporations in connection with real estate related matters, including construction/capital projects, acquisitions and dispositions of properties and facilities, leasing, financing and facilities management.
Mr. Simonis is the chair of the firm’s Orange County office and the Orange County real estate group. He also co-chairs the firm’s Military Base Land Privatization and Redevelopment Practice Group.
Mr. Simonis is a frequent speaker and writer regarding real estate ventures and transactions, development matters and telecommunications and power issues impacting the real estate industry.
Mr. Simonis received his undergraduate degree from Marquette University in 1983, where he graduated, magna cum laude, with majors in Finance, Economics and Political Science. He received his JD degree, magna cum laude, in 1986 from the University of Michigan, where he was selected to the Order of the Coif.
