Thomas R. Sherlock is the Senior Managing Director of Buchanan Street Partners. He is responsible for leading the national acquisitions and marketing efforts for the firm and serves on the Executive Management Committee.
Mr. Sherlock has been active in the real estate industry since 1985 and his experience includes being an advisor/fiduciary/lender to commercial real estate owners/developers, structuring the full capital stack for all types of commercial real estate investments, and being a top originator for many years at Citibank and other prior employers. In his role at Buchanan, Tom has been involved in leading the firm’s successful origination and execution of over $17 billion in equity investments and debt assignments.
Mr. Sherlock holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana. He is the 2009 President of NAIOP SoCal, and co-created the organization’s award winning Young Professionals Group, an education and leadership development program. In addition, he has lectured on the real estate capital markets for USC, University of California - Irvine, ICSC, and ULI and has written articles for a variety of real estate publications.
