As our newest Center of Excellence, the focus of the Center for Corporate Governance is to advance the fundamental understanding of corporate governance through sponsoring scholarly research, conducting interactive forums and speaker series, and disseminating the practice of effective and principled corporate governance through educational and outreach

programs.
Today’s Boards of Directors are held to higher standards, and creating the science of governance is more important than ever. The faculty directors of the Center are Professors Margarethe Wiersema and Joanna Ho, both of whom are internationally recognized as leading experts on corporate strategy, compliance, and CEO succession and replacement.

Professor Wiersema is actively involved with the business community by providing expertise on the subject of strategic analysis and thinking as well as the role of the Board of Directors and corporate governance. Professor Ho specializes in decision making related to management accounting and auditing, and is interested in helping accountants and auditors improve their decision-making skills.
