Centers of Excellence
The Don Beall Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship provides the education, guidance,
and potential partnerships for business visionaries to transfer their ideas
into viable market opportunities. The Center brings together two dynamic business
entities: a world-class research university and a vibrant economic location.
Center activities include the annual business plan competition, entrepreneurship
training workshops, and an entrepreneurship speaker series.
The Center for Global Leadership and Team Development offers opportunities to learn about
leadership, to develop personal and managerial skills, and to work directly
with corporate executives. In addition to offering a variety of workshops, the
Center’s Distinguished Speaker Series features key business leaders who address
ethics, effective leadership skills, the business-building process, and a variety
of timely issues. Scheduled speakers for the upcoming season include: John Palmer,
Regional President of Verizon, Greg Spierkel, CEO of Ingram Micro, and Scott
Garrett, President and CEO of Beckman Coulter.
The Center
for Real Estate is designed to produce highly qualified MBA graduates
with specialty training in the real estate industry. The Center conducts research
and proposes public policy solutions to challenges faced by real estate leaders.
There is an annual real estate conference, an industry speaker series, an annual
award dinner, and a variety of real estate-related activities throughout the
year.
The
Center for Health Care Management and Policy serves as a collaborative
forum for policy development and interdisciplinary research. It connects MBA
students, PhD candidates, and business executives - allowing them to enhance
their knowledge of forces that shape the healthcare and medical industries today.
Center activities include a breakfast speaker series and an annual health care
conference. Students may also tailor their MBA to have a healthcare focus, or
may attend the Health Care Executive MBA program for a more targeted experience.
The
Center for Research on Information Technology and Organizations (CRITO)
is home to world-renowned researchers who study information technology (IT)
issues, and how IT has transformed firms, industries, and the practice of management.
The Center
for Investment and Wealth Management is our newest venture and
has received overwhelming support from southern California business leaders.
The Center will focus on investment and portfolio analysis, and will work with
leading investment companies in the area. A further unique focus of the Center
will be on intergenerational issues of wealth transfer - a growing field given
the aging population demographics.
Center
for Organizational Research (COR) facilitates research on new organizational
forms and processes now taking shape in a variety of contexts
The Personal
Computing Industry Center (PCIC) is a key source of knowledge,
objective data, independent thought and networking about the rapidly changing
PC industry. It brings together industry executives and researchers to discuss
industry issues and new research findings. The center conducts basic and applied
research and is an ongoing industry resource for understanding
