Mission Statement:

The Financial Management Association is for all Merage students interested in careers and networking opportunities in the finance field. Our mission is to further expand FMA club members’ knowledge of the various sectors of the finance industry and help them prepare to compete within it. We want to help students build a strong network with other MBA students interested in finance, and provide a forum for students to share their experiences and insights on the most effective ways to enter the industry.

Why Focus on Finance:

• Finance is one of the most popular areas of concentration in most business schools.
• Over 30% of the Merage School FTMBA Class of 2007 accepted full-time offers in finance.
• Many areas within finance, including wealth management and investment banking/private equity are high growth sectors these days

Short Term Club Objectives:

• Increase club membership, particularly amongst FEMBA students
• Have one FMA networking event each quarter
• Secure corporate sponsorships to help supplement costs of the Wall Street Prep financial modeling seminar
• Help prepare students for finance-related MBA competitions, including the MBA Case Cup, VCIC, etc.

Long Term Club Objectives:

• Hold FMA Alumni Networking Events
• Hold an Annual FMA-led community service
• Become the largest career-oriented club at Merage
