Mission Statement

To expose students to the impact of technology on business and to expand the relationships between the Merage community and technology firms. The Association would also provide ample opportunities to help students network with companies, speak with professionals and gain business knowledge in the field of technology.

Why focus on Technology?

Technology is a major business enabler in today’s world and The Paul Merage School of Business is ranked 7^th nationally for Information Technology according to Wall Street Journal/Harris Interactive 2007 The school is also ranked 3^rd in IT and 5^th for e-business internationally according to Financial Times We should focus on Technology to help increase the percentage of MBA graduates recruited into the exciting world of technology and create leaders in technology roles irrespective of the industry. Other reasons include:

• Strong focus on strategic innovation,information technology, and analytical decision-making at The Paul Merage School of Business.


• UC Irvine’s proximity to local high tech firms and Silicon Valley.


• Significant interest in technology among Merage students and alumni.

Technology is a term with origins in the Greek "technologia" and "logia".
