Josiah Jennings Josiah Jennings, Co-President

For more than 6 years, Josiah Jennings, Co-President of Merage Real Estate Association, has been deeply involved in California & Hawaii real estate as a construction project manager, estimator and BIM (Building Information Modeling) manager. Josiah has played an instrumental role as a team leader in the pre-construction and construction phases of industrial, retail, office and multi-residential real estate projects. Prior to his academic work as a FEMBA at UCI, Josiah graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a BS in Construction Management.

Matt Ottenson Matt Ottenson, VP Operations

Matt Ottesen was an intern on the Acquisitions Team of Buchanan Street Partners during the summer of his UCI MBA program. Before going back to school, Matt worked at Excel Trust, Inc. (NYSE: EXL) based in San Diego as an Asset Manager over a portfolio of commercial retail properties. Prior to that, he was an Analyst at Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE:FRT), an equity retail real estate investment trust in the Washington DC area, where he supported the Investments Division in property underwriting and valuation.

Jackie Bohline Jackie Bohline, VP Finance

Jackie Bohline has been a Commercial Real Estate Credit Analyst and Appraisal Reviewer at MidFirst Bank since 2008. She has worked in the commercial real estate industry ever since receiving a BA Economics degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2005. In addition to being an officer with the MREA, Jackie is on the board of the Los Angeles chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW-LA). She is also very active in the community serving on the board of the University of Wisconsin Alumni Chapter of Orange County and volunteering with numerous organizations on the weekends.

Sandeep Sekhon Sandeep Sekhon, VP Technology

Sandeep brings over 6 years of IT knowledge and experience. At MREA, he is responsible for the website and other IT related projects. He is also a licensed real estate agent. Aside from being a member of the MREA, he holds a software developer’s position at CoreLogic. Prior to joining CoreLogic, he has worked for various companies including Los Angeles Times, Cintas and Famous Software. He also founded his software company, Sekhon Software (now part of ClearViewLogic), where he helped small to medium-scale companies to implement technology to lower the overhead cost and increase their profit margin. His clients ranged from Blain Farms to California Student Nurses Organization (CSNO). He is the master-mind behind PreListing.com, a lead generating and advertising platform for properties that are yet to hit the market. He also implemented a low cost solution for real estate brokers and agents called REMT (Real Estate Management Tool). His keen interests include reading, coding and developing solutions for real estate industry.

Sandeep received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and minor in mathematics from the University of California, Riverside (UCR) in 2005 with honors. Now, he’s pursuing his MBA at UC Irvine.

Jessica Tang Jessica Tang, VP Marketing

Prior to her FEMBA program at UCI, Jessica graduated from UC Berkeley with a major in Business Administration. Jessica has worked as an analyst in business valuation at WTAS LLC for the past 5 years. Prior to WTAS, Jessica interned at the Markley Group, a developer in the telecommunications space, where she helped with acquisitions and marketing. Jessica has also been involved in industrial, medical, and commercial real estate development projects in China.

Jason Zaler Jason Zaler, VP External

Jason Zaler is Vice President-External of the Merage Real Estate Association and a member of the Full-Time MBA Class of 2011.

Jason is passionate about real estate development, and in particular the use of green urban-infill to revitalize underdeveloped or emerging city neighborhoods. In addition to development, Jason also focuses on real estate finance issues from the operator perspective.

As a Summer Finance Associate at Vintage Senior Living, Jason was responsible for underwriting potential development sites for a senior housing developer/owner/operator, as well as performing statistical, financial and budget planning/analysis across the firm's $250 million portfolio.

Prior to attending Merage, Jason worked in both real estate and political consulting, first in Boston then in Washington, D.C. Outside of school, Jason can most often be found traveling at every opportunity, sailing Newport harbor or swimming.
