Advisory Board for OMA

Dear OMA Members,

OMA proudly introduces the founding members of the Advisory Board for the Operations Management Association. For the first time in Merage, a student club will be advised by senior industry executives. This promises to be an exciting venture via which we hope to establish a sound strategic direction for the club, increase our industry & corporate outreach, bring in more exciting events & opportunities of greater value to our members.

OMA has also introduced the Minute Mentor Program for the year 2008-09. In an effort to establish better relationships between Academic and Practical Operational situations, our board members will participate in a one-time mentoring commitment. Students are matched up with a mentor for a one-time meeting which may be conducted in person or over the phone depending on the mentor’s preference. Students are guided to discuss topic(s) of mutual interest and use the mentor’s guidance to address issues they may face in their academic setting. The one-time program is primarily aimed at allowing both students and mentors to reach out and interact with a diverse student body in a many-to-many relationship and then carry on those interactions that are of mutual interest.
