Another Groundbreaking Event in UC Irvine's History
With education and meeting spaces for three to 300, a coffeehouse and a food court, the new addition to our campus will be a welcoming destination for the entire business community. We’ll be celebrating the possibilities at this Groundbreaking Event that promises to be as fun as it is noteworthy -- bring your camera!
Faculty, students, alumni, staff, donors – all those who made our new Merage School building a reality – will come together to celebrate the next stage in our School’s exceptional history.
From the foundations of the Graduate School of Administration
, which then became the Graduate School of Management,
to what is today The Paul Merage School of Business
, we have much to be proud of: UC Irvine takes pride in our rising star as the youngest institution among the top 50 business schools in the country.
Details for free parking and event access were emailed to all confirmed guests in early January.
Our Building for the Future is Right Around the Corner
The 78,000 square foot Merage School building will be home to the beautiful high-tech 300-seat DLC auditorium (have you named your seat yet?
), several of the Merage School's Centers of Excellence, the Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.® trading and technology lab, and the 70-seat Lyman Porter Colloquia Room with a
breathtaking outdoor terrace for pre- and post-function events.
Other features include the Experian 70-seat and 90-seat case-study classrooms, the Corporate Partners Executive Conference Room, the Judy Rosener multi-purpose classroom and 20 small group study rooms. A 4,000 square foot “grand terrace” overlooking a new courtyard will be part of this project, as well as an abundance of indoor/outdoor dining space including two new restaurants, and ample space for academic and administrative offices.
The new Merage School building will put us at the forefront of innovation, collaboration, research and technology. It's the next generation building for the next generation of business, enabling new ways for our faculty and students to interact with each other and serving as the true hub of the vibrant Orange County business community.
