His  research involves the stability of currencies and financial systems across countries. His research was instrumental in helping Hong Kong stabilize its currency during the Asian Financial Crisis. She is involved in a long term project, sponsored by Tsinghua University and Temple University and the US State Department to train Chinese law professors how to teach experientially and using other innovative approaches. She also teaches Chinese law students, lawyers, judges, diplomats and government officials about mediation, arbitration, and dispute resolution.

His research focuses on the interaction between firm strategy and capital markets, including the impact of capital market and financial professionals (securities analysts) on firms’ strategic behavior and their competitive interactions with other rivals in the industry, and the means managers can use or learn to handle such impacts and make better strategic decisions. He is also interested in examining how such interactions differ in capital markets across the world, such as in EU, Japan, and China.
