UCI REAL ESTATE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION:
The UC Irvine Real Estate Alumni Association (UCIREA) had its first “Shop Talk” event of the year on April 22nd, 2009 which was hosted in partnership with CB Richard Ellis and The Irvine Company. The event featured 5 panelists: Keith Eyrich, President of The Irvine Company Retail Properties, Pat Donahue, President and CEO of Donahue Schriber, Larry Meyer, Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Forever 21, Jeff Nichols, Director of Real Estate of Home Depot Western Division, Scott Kaplan, Senior Managing Director of CBRE Retail Western Division. The event was moderated by Jeff Dodd, Senior Vice-President of The Irvine Company Retail Properties, and Jeff Moore, Senior Managing Director of CBRE. The panelists discussed their perspectives on the issues impacting the local retail industry which included the impact of consolidations, bankruptcies, and re-letting big boxes as well provided insight on managing through the current economic recession.
