The book is broadly divided into four parts:

Chapters 1 to 3 describe the evolving environment
that is now leading to the widespread acceptance of VAR.
(2) Building Blocks.
Chapters 4 to 9 review statistical and financial concepts
underlying risk measurement systems.
(3) Value-At-Risk Systems.
Chapters 10 to 13 compare and analyze in detail various approaches to
VAR.
(4) Risk Management Systems.
Chapters 14 to 16 discuss the implementation of VAR systems, as well as common pitfalls in risk management.
