Scenario two: The campaign fails, and the agency blames the client for providing inadequate information, direction or resources. Ryan Malone, MBA ’98, saw this story play out too many times. He saw that something at the core of many marketing agencies was broken.

    Nick Tran, MBA '11 and vice president of brand and culture marketing at Hulu, was behind the “Better Ruins Everything” marketing campaign that Hulu first launched during the Emmys last year. And it was Tran’s education at the Merage School that enabled him to switch to the career that ultimately led him to Hulu.

    After graduating in 2009, Reza Sabahi stay involved. He kept coming to campus. He joined the Dean’s Leadership Circle. He volunteered to coordinate alumni events. He helped current students build their networks. And a few years ago he started investing financially in the school, first as part of year-end tax planning and later because of the impact he felt his investments made.
