Professor Receives Hillcrest Behavioral Finance Award

David Hirshleifer, a Merage School Finance Professor and Paul Merage Chair in Business Growth; Kent Daniel from the Columbia Business School and NBER; and, Lin Sun, an assistant professor of Finance at the Florida State University College of Business, are the recipients of the 2017 Hillcrest Behavioral Finance Award for their paper titled, “Short and Long Horizon Behavioral Factors.” 

The award-winning paper examines mispricing associated with investor overconfidence and limited attention.  Co-author Lin Sun is a Merage School PhD alumna and is now a faculty member at Florida State University focusing on behavioral finance, empirical asset pricing, investments, and hedge funds.
