Alumni from The UCI Paul Merage School of Business Todd (FEMBA '05) and Lisa (BA '08, FEMBA '14) Halbrook have established an endowed scholarship fund at the School and donated a legacy gift to the Center for Investment and Wealth Management (CIWM).  

This gift will fund a scholarship in support of a first-generation undergraduate student committed to the study and practice of wealth management. The Todd and Lisa Halbrook Scholarship is the first of its kind for the CIWM and the Halbrooks hope this gift will inspire further giving to the Center.

Todd is a wealth manager in Newport Beach and currently serves on the board of the CIWM. He will join the Merage School’s Dean’s Advisory Board this winter. Todd and Lisa live in Irvine with their 3-year old son Alex.

"With this amazing gift, Todd and Lisa help support our undergraduate business students with financial need, many of which are the first in their families to go to college. Our undergraduates are among the best and brightest on campus and this gift will assist these deserving students in obtaining a high-quality education at one of the top public universities in the world," says CIWM Faculty Director and Associate Professor of Finance Christopher Schwarz. "Part of CIWM's mission is to educate students about careers in wealth management, which is an important part of the financial industry here in Orange County. These scholarships will help CIWM to further support this goal."

Todd and Lisa are committed to uplifting such students and are creating a life-long legacy of philanthropy at the Merage School.

“Lisa and I are excited to give back to the Merage School today, through a Center that we truly believe in. The study of wealth management is critical to industry and we are proud to impact a student who otherwise may not have the opportunity to explore this field through the gift of scholarship.”

It is the mission of the CIWM to facilitate discussion, study and application of financial education for all. The Center offers leadership in and serves as a resource for financial education with goals of increasing financial literacy, minimizing financial instability for the benefit of society and training the next generation of financial industry leaders.
