In a significant educational endeavor, Professor Joanna Ho of the Paul Merage School of Business, University of California, Irvine, recently led a group of MBA students on an insightful trip to Vietnam, with a pivotal visit to Vin University. This journey marked a significant stride in international academic collaboration and cultural exchange.

"The experience at Vin University offered our students a unique perspective on global business education," said Professor Joanna Ho. "It was not only an opportunity to understand different academic environments and Vingroup’s global strategies, but also a chance to engage in meaningful dialogue about the future of international business education."

This educational expedition allowed the UCI students to immerse themselves in a distinct educational setting, gaining critical insights into business education's evolving landscape in Southeast Asia. The trip was a testament to UCI's commitment to providing its students with a comprehensive understanding of global business practices.

Dean Ian O. Williamson of the Paul Merage School of Business highlighted the importance of international exposure. "Our mission is to prepare leaders for inclusive excellence and a digitally driven world, and this requires a comprehensive global outlook. Encounters like these are vital in equipping our students with the necessary skills and understanding to succeed in the global business arena," he commented.

The visit opened avenues for potential collaborations between UCI and Vin University. Key discussion topics included semester exchange programs, faculty exchanges, integrated degree programs, and internships, promising to enhance both the educational experience and global business perspectives of students and faculty.

Assistant Prof. Jin from Vin University's College of Business and Management will spearhead the MBA program collaboration, while Ms. Van Anh, Head of Alumni, Industry & Development Department, will manage the internship opportunities. These initiatives aim to forge strong ties between the two universities, enriching the academic journey of their students.

This trip to Vietnam is part of the many initiatives by the Paul Merage School of Business to extend its international influence. With a dedication to leadership in a digitally driven world, the school continues to pioneer in offering global business education.

As 2023 comes to a close, the Paul Merage School of Business eagerly anticipates strengthening its international partnerships and providing its students with exceptional global learning experiences.
