UC Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business is excited to introduce the Master in Management (MiM), a one-year program designed to provide recent graduates from all academic backgrounds with the essential business knowledge and skills to succeed in today’s competitive job market. The MiM program is perfect for individuals looking to pivot into business or those with non-business academic backgrounds. No prior work experience is required, making it an ideal choice for those eager to make a seamless transition into management. Whether your interests lie in marketing, operations, consulting, or finance, the MiM program provides a solid foundation and hands-on experience to help you succeed.
“We are excited to offer this program, which is designed to help students build the skills they need to become leaders in a rapidly evolving business environment,” said Dean Ian O. Williamson of the Paul Merage School of Business. “The MiM program is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about business, even if their previous studies were in fields outside traditional business disciplines. It prepares students for success in the global business world.”
The program’s streamlined curriculum covers key areas of business, such as marketing, management, finance, and accounting. Students also have the option to specialize in cutting-edge fields like digital strategy and sustainability—both of which are highly valued by employers worldwide.
Through a combination of classroom learning, group projects, and a capstone project, MiM students gain real-world experience by working with leading companies such as Amazon, Disney, and Experian. This practical experience ensures that graduates are ready to make an immediate impact in their careers.
In addition to academic rigor, the MiM program offers personalized career support and access to the Merage School’s extensive alumni network. Graduates leave with the confidence, knowledge, and professional connections needed to succeed in diverse industries.
For international students, the MiM program’s STEM designation provides extended work opportunities in the United States, including up to three years of Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Applications for the upcoming academic year are now open. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and gain the business expertise necessary to excel, the UC Irvine Master in Management program is the perfect place to start.
