The Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine is proud to announce that Pamina Barkow ’03, EMBA ’16, will deliver the keynote address at the 2025 Masters Commencement Ceremony. A distinguished alumna and accomplished entrepreneur, Barkow brings a wealth of experience in healthcare leadership, business innovation, and community engagement.
“It’s a powerful full-circle moment to speak at the commencement of a program that changed my life," said Barkow. "UC Irvine has never been in my rearview—I’ve stayed deeply engaged through mentorship, service, and friendship, and I’m proud to call this community home.”
Born in Chillán, Chile, Barkow immigrated to the United States and pursued her education at UC Irvine, earning degrees in Spanish and English Literature, followed by an Executive MBA from the Merage School. Her academic journey laid the foundation for a dynamic career that bridges healthcare and business.
In 2008, Barkow co-founded Orange County Pain Management, transforming it into one of South Orange County's largest pain clinics. Following the passing of her husband and co-founder, she led the company through a successful acquisition in 2021. Subsequently, she co-founded PI Medical Partners, a management service organization dedicated to supporting medical practices in the personal injury sector.
Beyond her entrepreneurial ventures, Barkow is deeply committed to mentorship and philanthropy. She has served as Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board and Vice Chair of the Beall Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Merage School. In 2023, she and her fiancé, Greg Harrison, pledged $1 million to support aspiring entrepreneurs and business leaders, emphasizing support for single parents and underrepresented students.
Barkow's dedication to UC Irvine extends to her role as a UCI Foundation Trustee and her involvement with the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute. Her contributions have been recognized with the 2024 Lauds & Laurels Distinguished Alumni Award, one of the university's highest honors.
Her commencement address is anticipated to inspire graduates with insights drawn from her extensive experience in business leadership, healthcare innovation, and community service.
Please join us in welcoming Pamina Barkow back to campus as she addresses the graduating class of 2025.
