UCI Dinners with Anteaters at the Merage School

June 01, 2018

Another record-breaking number of business administration undergraduate students and alumni attended Dinners With Anteaters on May 19, an intimate dinner where students and alumni enjoyed each other’s company over catered food, fun interactions and great conversations.

The Merage School is the first school on campus to invite young alumni to act as hosts for these dinners, while the Alumni Relations office coordinates the rest. These engaging events bring alumni back to campus to have a simple dinner with undergraduates who want to learn more about alumni perspectives on the UCI experience, job search and application process, a sample day in the life in their current position and advice on what they can do now to prepare them for success while at UCI and beyond. As a result of these events, alumni wanted to host future dinners of their own, to become mentors, to connect with students one-on-one and to become more engaged to make an impact on undergraduates and the Merage School. Students came prepared with great questions, ready to practice their networking skills.

Thank you to alumni hosts Farbod Esnaashari, BA ’13, Zachary Ferguson, BA ’16, Bill Miller, BA ’13, Nicole Williams, BA ’17 and Annie Wong, BA ‘17 for participating in the dinner, sharing their stories and providing advice to the students. Learn more about the Merage School alumni hosts.

It is a rewarding opportunity to host these Dinners with Anteaters events so we encourage more alumni to host them in the future. If you’re interested please complete the interest form. The 2018-19 schedule will be set in late summer with dinners resuming in fall 2018. Sandy Nga Lee, Young Alumni Engagement Manager, will reach out with dates and details once the dates have been identified.
