• By UCI Paul Merage School of BusinessIrvine, CA - (December 07, 2017) - The UCI Paul Merage School of Business climbed four spots to rank 39th nationally in the Poets & Quants Annual Top 100 U.S. MBA Programs report.
Considered the most comprehensive assessment of graduate business programs, Poets & Quants’ exclusive report combines the latest five most influential business school rankings in the world: U.S. News & World Report, Forbes, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Financial Times, and The Economist. Instead of merely averaging the five, each ranking is separately weighted to account for Poets & Quants’ view of their credibility. (U.S. News is given a weight of 35 percent, Forbes, 25 percent, while both The Financial Times and Businessweek are given a 15 percent weight, and The Economist, 10 percent.)
“By combining the five reports, Poets & Quants brings them together in a unique way that reduces the anomalies that often appear and tells a comprehensive story about the performance of each of the schools on the list,” said Jon Kaplan, assistant dean of the Merage School’s Full-Time MBA program. “The fact that the Merage School continues to climb, even in a consolidated report like the one from Poets & Quants, further demonstrates how solid our performance truly is.”
In addition, the Merage School is one of only 42 schools on the Poets & Quants Top 100 list that is ranked by all five of the of the news organizations.
“The significance of the Merage School’s success on this list reflects the success our graduates and the quality of the students we recruit, and certainly the expertise and professionalism of our faculty and staff. With a new curricula focus on the strategies for leadership in a digitally driven world, we expect to climb even higher in the future,” said Eric Spangenberg, dean of the Merage School.
In October, the Merage School was ranked 39th in the nation, 56th in the world, by The Economist, in the school’s first year of eligibility. Earlier this year, Forbes ranked the Merage School’s Full-Time MBA program at 41st in the nation based on return-on-investment.See the entire Poets & Quants Top 100 list, visit https://poetsandquants.com/2017/11/27/wharton-dislodges-harvard-from-top-of-pq-mba-ranking/3/.
