UC Irvine welcomes students, alumni, and faculty to build and integrate into its network culture. I enjoy the breadth of electives I can choose to tailor to my focus. Lastly, our capstone project allows students to work with a diverse team to solve a real-world problem.

Program Structure

The MFin program begins each fall and is completed over three academic quarters and one summer session. Students complete a minimum of 13 courses (52 units), including six core courses, multiple electives, and a hands-on capstone project. The number of units in the table is shown in parentheses.

The Capstone Project

The Capstone Project spans the spring and summer terms and gives students hands-on experience working with a real company or sponsor on a business-critical finance problem. You'll work as part of a team under the guidance of a faculty advisor, producing a final presentation that demonstrates your skills, insights, and value to future employers.
