Strategic Finance
The Master of Finance (MFin) program at the UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Business is a one-year, full-time, STEM-designated program that provides you with advanced expertise, specialized knowledge, and practical tools across multiple sectors of the finance industry. You’ll build the skills to succeed in today’s dynamic digital landscape while gaining the competitive edge needed to excel in investment banking, wealth management, corporate finance, asset management, fintech, and beyond.

The MFin program is a full-time program that begins each fall. Students complete 13 courses — including six core courses and seven electives — allowing you to personalize your education and focus on your career goals.

The CFA Institute is the global membership association that administers the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) and Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) curriculum and exam programs worldwide. It also publishes research, conducts professional development programs, and sets voluntary, ethics-based professional and performance-reporting standards for the investment industry.
Our Master of Finance (MFin) program has been acknowledged as incorporating at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct within the program. This program helps students obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charter, which has become the most respected and recognized investment credential in the world.

The Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) is a leading industry organization for risk management professionals worldwide. As an Academic Partner, our program aligns with the rigorous standards set by the Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) certification, recognized globally as the benchmark for careers in risk management.
