Dylan Powell used the financial skills and connections he made during the program to get a banking analyst position right out of school.
The Master of Finance (MFin) program equips you with advanced technical and practical training for finance jobs in a digitally driven world. Closely tied to professional practices, MFin’s curriculum is well-suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA examinations and obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charter. Exclusively, MFin launches six new career pathways in various finance fields such as Wealth Management, Real Estate, Fintech, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Quantitative Finance and Risk Management.
With this one-year, full-time Master of Finance program, you will gain a comprehensive and specialized understanding of finance that not only enhances your career prospects but also equips you with the knowledge and tools to navigate the complex and ever-evolving world of finance successfully in a growing digital landscape. The MFin program can open doors to lucrative career opportunities in Orange County and beyond, increase your earning potential, and allow you to make a significant impact in the finance industry. Whether you aspire to work in investment banking, wealth management, corporate finance, or any other financial sector, UCI’s Master of Finance program can provide you with the competitive edge and expertise needed to excel in your chosen field.
With a decline in qualified professionals and many quantitative positions going unfilled, a STEM designated finance degree is crucial to producing finance professionals that help the U.S.’s economic growth and overall competitiveness in the global market. The MFin program is STEM-designated and eligible students have the option to apply for up to 36 months of Optional Practical Training (OPT) upon graduation. This longer duration is especially attractive to companies interested in recruiting and retaining top STEM talent. For more information about OPT eligibility, please visit UCI’s International Center website.

Learn More about Career ImpactThe Merage School ExperienceI chose the Merage School because I knew from my undergrad experience that faculty don’t treat you like just another name on their roster. This program offers not just a solid financial foundation but also career advising through ProSeminar.
