Real-World Experience
The Capstone Project
The MiM program integrates class learning with real-world experience through a capstone project over two quarters. Students collaborate in teams with Fortune 500 companies across various industries—such as social media, sports, consulting, finance and entertainment—to solve real-world business challenges. Guided by faculty, students manage projects from start to finish, gaining hands-on experience while enhancing their business analytics and communication skills.

Project course designed to enable students to apply their acquired knowledge and methods from program coursework to address a practical business problem. Students will collaborate in teams of up to five members and will be assigned an experiential learning project by the program, typically sourced from a Southern California-based company in the industry. The capstone projects provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their extensive knowledge in business analytics and their ability to apply it to real-world business challenges.
Elective courses allow students to tailor their education to specific interests and career goals, offering advanced topics such as marketing analytics, environmental policy, sustainability reporting, and more. These courses provide an opportunity for deeper specialization and practical experience.
