The Summer Intensive Program provides students from any academic background with the essential accounting foundations needed to smoothly transition into the Master of Professional Accountancy program, empowering them to acquire critical skills and start their master's in just 10 weeks.

Who benefits from the Summer Intensive Program?
The MPAc Summer Intensive Program is ideal for non-accounting majors, international students, and those needing to quickly meet accounting prerequisites.
International Students with Foreign Degrees
International students with foreign degrees will begin the program in the summer to meet U.S. GAAP standards and requirements.
Domestic Non-Accounting Majors
Non-accounting majors can fulfill all prerequisite courses and be fully prepared to start in the fall, even with just introductory knowledge. Courses are designed for all levels of accounting proficiency.
Students Who Need Course(s) to Complete Accounting Prerequisites
Students needing to complete their remaining prerequisite courses for entry into the MPAc program can fulfill those requirements through the program.

The summer program gave me a head start. I had the opportunity to meet with professors, learn their teaching styles, meet with other students, and begin to form study groups, all before Fall classes began. I also got a headstart on networking with alumni and began working with the Career Center to fine-tune my resume and cover letter.

Tuition & Fees
Summer pre-session courses cost $3,400* per course, with students able to enroll in up to four courses. Financial aid is not available for summer courses. If you are an admitted student planning to take the Summer Intensive Program, the Program Services department will automatically enroll you in your courses.
* The estimated fees for the 2024-25 academic year are based on current and proposed rates for professional degree programs. These amounts are subject to change, and final figures may differ once approved by the Regents of the University of California.
