UC Irvine Flex MBA Program Scholarship Competition 2024

The Flex MBA Admissions Office is excited to announce three competitive scholarships available to highly qualified admitted students in our Fall 2024 entering classes. The Merage School is well-known for its focus on developing leaders for a digitally driven world as well as its renowned strength for developing an inclusive, community-oriented culture. These three scholarships are designed to recognize students with a track-record of success in one of our core themes.

Three top prizes of $25,000 each will be awarded.  Additional awards may be given for strong submissions.

Leadership for a Digitally Driven World Scholarship

Leading in a digitally driven world takes agility. The ever-changing business environment will require leaders who are prepared to face the challenges brought on by disruption. From remote work environments to AI implementation, businesses have either thrived in or struggled through digital challenges. What do you think the next digital transformation looks like in your industry? Give us a glimpse into the future and what type of leader will be successful in the digitally driven world of 2030.

Inclusive Excellence Scholarship

As an institution of higher learning and a cornerstone of the Orange County business community, the Merage School believes that a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion uplifts us all. Share a specific management or societal challenge that you feel needs to be prioritized in your industry of choice and how you would mobilize your team/senior leadership to create an inclusive work environment where everyone can thrive. Alternatively, you may use an example from your personal or academic life on how an inclusive culture has made a positive impact on you.

Flex MBA Ambassador Scholarship

Each year, the Merage School seeks a motivated group of current student ambassadors to assist the Admissions Team in recruiting prospective students. Ambassadors serve as a connection point, share their own experiences, and help solidify new students’ decisions to pursue their MBA at Merage. Student ambassadors represent a wide range of diverse backgrounds that give prospective applicants a glimpse into the culture at Merage. Providing specific examples of how you have previously served in an ambassador role either through school or community engagement, how would you contribute as an active Flex MBA Ambassador at Merage?

Candidates interested in one or more of these scholarships must submit a 2-3-minute video to be considered. Please email a private YouTube link of your submission to flexmba@uci.edu with the subject “Scholarship Submission: [Category of scholarship: Leadership for a Digitally Driven World; Inclusive Excellence; or Ambassador]”. Include your full name and email address used for your Flex MBA application and submit a separate email for each scholarship to which you are applying.

For Fall 2024 applicants, the video essay must be submitted by June 1, 2024 at 11:59pm PT.

All candidates are considered for scholarships based on the qualitative and quantitative components of your application. Any award you receive will be in addition to any admission scholarship you receive. Scholarship recipients will be announced no later than June 22 (Fall 2024). In addition, candidates that hold progressive experience or accomplishments within certain industries (Real Estate, etc.) may be considered for specialized scholarships offered through our Centers of Excellence.

The Flex MBA Admissions team has also gathered a number of public, private and agency scholarships for your convenience - we have no connection or commitment from any of these agencies, but depending on your personal situation and interest, these may be useful to you in financing your MBA.
