Integrated Learning Track

Academic studies emphasize how low financial literacy threatens the future prosperity of many Americans – especially those from underserved communities. The Merage School underscores access to financial and business curriculum essential to long-term success for these students and their families. As a result, the Future Leaders Initiative will highlight financial literacy, and the technological business careers these families can harness to support their communities and propel the economy forward.

Your future is bright and you're ready for the road ahead. Our integrated learning track welcomes both high school and community college students. We'll be with you all the way leading up to college, through college and beyond.

Core objectives for this program include:

  • Build awareness around the importance of financial & tech literacy
  • Recruit, engage, and develop underprivileged students
  • Provide on-going support through expert mentoring & scholarships

Over a six day period, students will earn a FLI Certification, which can be leveraged for college applications, and receive instruction covering six areas:

Investment & Wealth Management

One of the biggest gaps between underserved communities and those with more access to resources is financial and investing knowledge. Working with leading faculty in finance and business, the MCI bridges this gap by addressing multiple aspects of financial literacy and investing:

  • Budgeting Saving & investing
  • Equity & debt markets
  • Retirement planning
  • Time-value of money

Our course material will help students gain invaluable exposure and insights into one of the most dynamic fields of business today: real estate. Real estate investment and development is fundamental to the shaping of people's lives in the built environment. Students will learn about topics such as:

In particular, it will expose the workforce of the future to the skills they need to thrive in the future. Through workshops, seminars, in-person and virtual courses, students will learn:

  • The basics of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

In many ways, Entrepreneurship & Innovation encapsulates all of the other areas of focus. This segment of the curriculum will help students understand what it truly means to analyze a market, discover an opportunity, start a company, and grow a thriving business. The content will cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Identifying consumer needs and product gaps
  • Different types of business formations and business identities
  • The role of funding and finance in entrepreneurship
