One major component of our mission are our outreach efforts to the professional community, government institutions, and the public at-large. We organize and sponsor numerous events for students, faculty and members of the real estate professional community including:

Additionally, the Real Estate Alumni Network links UCI graduates currently working in the real estate industry and members of the academic community with current students who are interested in pursuing careers in the field.

Certificate in Real Estate

In partnership with the Office of Executive Education, the Certificate in Real Estate takes a holistic and contemporary approach to real estate, drawing from the lessons of past cycles and current trends. Participants complete a total of five quarter-long courses, in addition to a two-day program, and can complete the program in as few as nine months.

Certificate in Real Estate Finance and Investment Analysis Program

The Certificate in Real Estate Finance and Investment Analysis program will provide participants with an overview of how to analyze and finance a real estate investment. Learn essential Excel skill sets to prepare property cash flows and create dynamic and sophisticated commercial real estate valuation models to analyze transactions on both an unlevered and levered basis. Certificate for Real Estate Transactions: A Practical Guide

Obtain analytical tools and practical guidance to enhance your career and improve your ability to develop successful real estate projects by gaining an in-depth appreciation and understanding of the technical and legal sides of commercial real estate transactions. Learn the “why” behind the procedures and forms used so that you can confidently interact with attorneys, title officers, architects, and civil engineers, and others whose work is critical to successful real estate development. This four-day graduate level course provides you a robust understanding of the necessary legal and technical sides of any real estate transaction in California.

Breakfast Series

Hosted three times a year, the popular Breakfast Series features panels of experts discussing and debating major issues of current interest to the real estate community. Our Advisory Board members are frequent attendees and participants and attend at a discounted rate. Recent topics of discussion have included the housing bubble and subprime mortgage market, the impact of proposed changes in eminent domain law, the redevelopment of the former El Toro Marine Base into the Great Park and the anticipated future residential development patterns over the next 20 years.

Real Estate Awards Luncheon

The biennial Real Estate Awards Luncheon brings together over 500 recognized real estate professionals every other year to celebrate the success of visionary leaders and to address the topical issues and major challenges facing the industry today. This event attracts some of the most successful real estate professionals as we honor real estate industry professionals with a lifetime of achievements that have positively impacted the industry as well as those who are on the rise and demonstrate great promise. A recognized figure from the policy or professional community gives the keynote address rounding out an afternoon of great food, entertainment and discussion.

Spring Board Meeting & Symposium

CRE Spring Board Meeting

This invitation-only annual event takes place during the Spring season. This board meeting is attended by members of the UCI Center for Real Estate’s advisory board members, guests from the professional real estate community, faculty and scholars of the Merage School’s real estate program. The program begins with a brief report on the School’s real estate program, followed by a series of high-level panel discussions by leading experts that will address today’s most timely issues in the real estate markets. An elegant reception and dinner program concludes the day’s activities.

Distinguished Executive-in-Residence

The Distinguished Executive-in-Residence Program honors a senior real estate professional internationally who has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in leadership, education and mentorship of students and young professionals, and dedication to enhancement of the communities he/she has served.
