Daniel Chow is an Associate Professor in Residence, in the School of Medicine and a Co-Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Diagnostic Medicine. He completed his medical degree from the University of California Los Angeles, radiology residency from Columbia University, neuroimaging fellowship from the University of California San Francisco, and MBA from the University of California, Irvine. He also serves as an Army Reservist and a Diagnostic Radiologist.

In his role as Director for the Advanced Analytics in Artificial Intelligence (A3), a unit under the UCI Institute for Precision Health (IPH), Dr. Daniel Chow leads efforts focused on implementing and validating novel digital health technologies into patient care settings. He also serves as the Section Chief of the Division of Neuroradiology and Vice Chair of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Radiological Sciences at UCI Health, providing leadership and excellence in patient care through his novel approaches to treatment and commitment to community health. His contributions to improving healthcare include increasing referrals to existing practices through imaging automation, decreasing readmission and prolonged hospital stays through AI-based scoring tools, and improving patient understanding of cancer detection by translating radiology reports into lay terms.

Over his career, he has authored/co-authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and received numerous scientific and professional awards, including the Holman Graduate, ARRS President’s Award, and Poets & Quants. He has served on multiple national and international scientific committees.
