Professor Fawaz is a veteran executive with more than 20 years of industry experience. A performance and results-driven business leader known for transformative change throughout a noteworthy career. Marc is known and respected for empathetic leadership of high-impact teams, utilizing positive urgency to deliver results and sustainable business growth. Accomplished career experience and strong business acumen complemented by respect for cultural uniqueness have resulted in his ability to drive results globally. He is an entrepreneur with extensive experience in corporate global leadership & change, and in lecturing business topics at universities locally and abroad.

Marc’s areas of expertise include marketing, management, strategy, mergers & acquisitions, value-focused selling, recruitment, team building & mentoring, digital business transformation, cross-functional team leadership, analytics-based execution & improvement, corporate communication, relationship building, negotiation, and organizational leadership and change.

Marc earned an Executive MBA from UCI where he was awarded the “Most Innovative Thinker” for his class of 2005. Throughout his tenure in higher education, Marc has been recognized as a most inclusive professor with best teaching and coaching style. In addition to being a Professor of Business, Marc is a business consultant and serves on several corporate boards.

Serving the local community is a top priority for Marc. His relentless devotion to apply his passions and ideas to impact as many lives as he can is demonstrated in the numerous projects he constantly involves students with. For over a decade now, Marc continues to serve as a mentor, coach, and judge for the UCI New Venture Competition at The Beall Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and as an academic advisor for the Enactus Organization. Marc is also active in community outreach programs that address social challenges such as poverty and homelessness.

Marc’s current research interest is heavily focused on strategies that endorse social entrepreneurship. His recent Ph.D. research theme explored Strategic & Corporate Social Entrepreneurship through a comparative study of Best Practices in Global Corporate Social Responsibilities. Marc is fluent in English, French, and various dialect of the Arabic language. He serves as a first responder and an active member of the community search & rescue and emergency preparedness on the UCI campus, and in his community of residence in Newport.
