Organization and Management

Mark Zbaracki is a Visiting Scholar in Organization and Management at the Paul Merage School of Business and an Associate Professor in Strategy at the Ivey Business School. He is interested in the implementation of managerial practice, an issue he has studied in contexts such as total quality management, pricing, and artificial intelligence. His current projects examine the role of artificial intelligence in decision making and in applications of dynamic pricing. He has published in a range of scholarly outlets, including Administrative Science Quarterly, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, and Review of Economics and Statistics. His publication “The Rhetoric and Reality of Total Quality Management” won the ASQ Award for scholarly contribution and his pricing research was cited by George Akerlof in his Nobel Laureate address. Professor Zbaracki previously held faculty appointments at the Carlson School of the University of Minnesota, the Stern School of Business at New York University, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and at the Booth School of the University of Chicago. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Mangement from Stanford University.
